Bitget UNICEF, a leading Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange, has announced a landmark partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg to expand blockchain training across India and seven other countries. This initiative, revealed on June 16, 2025, aims to equip more than 300,000 individuals with practical Web3 and blockchain skills through the newly established Bitget Academy.

As part of this collaboration, Bitget has joined UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition (GCC) — a global initiative focused on digital skills development, particularly targeting young girls in low- and middle-income countries. This partnership reflects a growing emphasis on bridging the digital divide and preparing young people for emerging job markets dominated by Web3 technologies, blockchain, AI, and gaming industries.

“Digital skills are a powerful driver of opportunity and inclusion,” stated Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg. She emphasized the need for early exposure to emerging technologies to ensure equitable access to employment opportunities worldwide.

Blockchain Education with Social Impact

According to Bitget CEO Gracy Chen, blockchain has tremendous potential for social good. “Emerging technologies must be introduced early and equitably. Blockchain, with its real-world use case and potential for social good, is one of the most powerful tools we can give to our younger generation,” Chen remarked.

Through Bitget Academy, the program will focus on teaching participants how to build video games using blockchain technology— a rapidly growing sector where women are increasingly making their mark. UNICEF estimates that over a million women could enter the gaming industry by 2027, further emphasizing the need for early technical education.

Global Reach: India, Brazil, Malaysia & More

The three-year partnership will initially target eight countries: India, Brazil, Malaysia, Morocco, Vietnam, Macau, and others. This international outreach comes as blockchain adoption continues to surge across Asia and Latin America. In April 2025, Bitget also announced a separate India-focused initiative with Avalanche to strengthen Web3 infrastructure and developer training within India.

India at the Forefront of Web3 Training

India is rapidly emerging as a global hub for Web3 development. Earlier this year, Vietnam launched a national Academy of Blockchain and AI to train a million individuals in these technologies. Similarly, the UN has committed to training over 22,000 staff members in Web3 skills globally by 2027.

Bitget’s partnership with UNICEF is well-aligned with these global trends, focusing on youth empowerment, gender inclusion, and technical skills development for the future crypto economy.

Combating Crypto Scams Through Education

As AI-powered scams, deepfakes, and crypto fraud schemes become more sophisticated, proactive education is becoming crucial. Countries worldwide are investing in blockchain training not only for young professionals but also for law enforcement agencies tasked with regulating emerging financial crimes.
