Motorola has recently entered India’s tablet market with the Pad 60 Pro, positioning it in the midrange segment at a starting price of ₹26,999. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300, this tablet is marketed as a versatile option for gaming, entertainment, and creativity. But how well does it perform in real-world use? Here’s our detailed review.
Design and Build
The Pad 60 Pro sports a design that closely resembles the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, which is no surprise since Motorola and Lenovo are part of the same parent company. From the camera module to the magnetic zone for stylus attachment, the design is strikingly similar. The tablet comes in a PANTONE Bronze Green finish and weighs around 620 grams, which might feel slightly bulky for long usage sessions. The build quality, however, is sturdy enough to withstand minor drops.
It features a quad-speaker setup with JBL tuning and Dolby Atmos, offering a decent audio experience for movies and web series, though gaming audio is less impressive.
Display and Audio
The 12.7-inch 3K pOLED display offers a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 400 nits. The colours are vibrant, validated by PANTONE, and it performs well for multimedia consumption. However, outdoor visibility is poor, as reflections and glare affect usability.
In terms of audio, the JBL-tuned quad speakers provide a solid multimedia experience, but when gaming, crucial audio cues like footsteps in titles like BGMI are not very clear without external headphones.
Motorola Pen
Bundled with the Pad 60 Pro, the Motorola Pen enhances productivity. It’s excellent for note-taking, sketching, and interacting with the tablet. While there’s some minor latency, it’s practically unnoticeable for everyday tasks. The stylus supports features like screenshot markup, Google’s Circle to Search, and media controls. The handwriting recognition works well, converting handwritten notes to digital text smoothly.
Camera
The 13MP rear and 8MP front camera setup delivers average performance in good lighting but struggles in low light. The front camera suffices for video calls but tends to soften skin textures in selfies. The tablet also includes a document scanner for quick scanning of paperwork when needed.
Performance and Software
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300, the Pad 60 Pro handles multitasking quite well. Apps like Chrome, Notes, YouTube, and games like Asphalt and EA Sports FC 24 perform smoothly. However, gaming performance is inconsistent—BGMI experiences frame drops at high graphics settings. The tablet ships with Android 14, which is a bit behind the curve, as Motorola has already launched Android 15 on its smartphones.
Battery and Charging
The tablet is equipped with a 10,200mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. It lasts a full day with light use, but heavy gaming reduces its endurance to 5–6 hours. Charging from 0 to 100% takes around 75 minutes, which is efficient given its large battery.
Verdict
Overall, the Motorola Pad 60 Pro is a solid midrange tablet that excels in media consumption and productivity, thanks to its vibrant display and the bundled Motorola Pen. While it’s a great option for casual sketching, note-taking, and watching movies, its gaming performance may leave enthusiasts disappointed due to frame drops, audio limitations, and ergonomic issues. It’s a good deal at ₹26,999, but if gaming is your priority, there might be better alternatives.
