Meta AI apphas introduced a new warning system on its AI app aimed at preventing users from accidentally sharing private conversations publicly. Following reports of the Meta AI Discover feed
New Warning Pop-Up on Meta AI Discover Feed

According to Business Insider and Gadgets 360, Meta AI users now see a full-page warning message when they attempt to share a post on the Discover feed. The pop-up alerts users:
“Prompts that you post are public and visible to everyone. Your prompts may be suggested by Meta on other Meta apps. Avoid sharing personal or sensitive information.”
This warning appears after tapping the “Share” button located in the top-right corner of the chat screen. To proceed, users need to acknowledge the message and tap once more to activate the “Post to feed” button.
Manage Settings for Enhanced Privacy
Alongside the warning, a ‘Manage Settings’ link allows users to customize whether their prompts can be suggested across Meta’s other platforms like Facebook and Instagram. This gives users more granular control over the visibility of their AI interactions.
While some users report seeing the warning only on their first attempt to share, others have noticed it appearing more frequently in recent days, suggesting Meta is fine-tuning the feature rollout.
Meta Tightens Privacy Amid Growing Concerns

Last week, Meta faced criticism after the Discover feed displayed conversations that appeared to contain personal data. This raised alarm about users unknowingly exposing private interactions publicly.
In addition to the warning pop-up, Business Insider observed an increase in image-based posts and a reduction in text-based posts within the app. This may be part of Meta’s effort to reduce the accidental sharing of sensitive conversations. However, Gadgets 360 was unable to independently verify this trend.
Ongoing Privacy Risks with AI-Edited Images
Interestingly, even AI-generated image posts carry their own set of privacy concerns. Some images edited via the Meta AI app continue to display the original, unedited versions in the description area. These original photos can often be copied or saved by any user who views the post, raising further questions about privacy safeguards.
Meta’s Response
Meta maintains that no conversations are posted to Discover unless users explicitly choose to share them. The new warning is intended to prevent unintentional public sharing and reinforce user awareness about the visibility of their posts.
