Microsoft is taking another leap into AI integration with Windows 11. The tech giant has started testing two major artificial intelligence features in its latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build for Dev Channel users: the introduction of AI Agents and enhanced Recall sharing options for European users.
Windows 11 AI Agents Make Settings Simpler

According to Gadgets360, Microsoft’s new AI Agents allow users to modify system settings using natural language. For instance, typing a prompt like, “my mouse pointer is too small,” will automatically guide or execute the necessary adjustments in the Settings menu.
This new AI-driven feature is currently available only to users who:
- Are part of the Windows Insider Programme (Dev Channel)
- Own a Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PC
- Have English set as their primary display language
Microsoft confirmed that support for AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs will be added soon. By enabling AI agents, users can automate routine settings tasks, simplifying the experience for both casual and power users.
Recall Snapshots Get Share Option in Europe
Alongside AI agents, Microsoft has introduced new privacy-centric features for its controversial Recall tool, but only for users in the European Economic Area (EEA). Recall stores periodic snapshots of a user’s screen, allowing them to review past activity.

Now, EEA users have the option to export Recall snapshots and share them with third-party apps and websites. This export functionality requires the use of a unique Recall Export Code — a one-time code provided during the feature’s first setup.
Here’s how the new Recall sharing feature works:
- Users authenticate using Windows Hello.
- Provide the Recall Export Code to authorized apps or vendors to decrypt the snapshots.
- If users lose the code or suspect misuse, they can reset Recall to wipe all existing snapshots and generate a new code.
As Microsoft clarified, “Microsoft does not have access to your export code and cannot help you recover it if lost.”
Two Recall Sharing Options Available
Users can choose between:
- Export Past Snapshots: Select snapshots from the last 7 days, 30 days, or all saved data.
- Export Snapshots From Now On: Enable continuous export going forward, with the option to stop sharing anytime.
To access these settings, users need to navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security > Recall & Snapshots > Advanced Settings.
Exclusive to Europe for Now

The decision to limit Recall sharing features to the EEA reflects Microsoft’s compliance with the European Union’s strict privacy regulations. By providing users full control over their data export process, Microsoft aims to balance innovation with privacy expectations.
More AI Features Coming to Windows 11
These updates are part of Microsoft’s broader push to integrate AI deeply into the Windows ecosystem. Upcoming Windows 11 builds may include even more AI-powered personalization and automation features as Copilot+ PCs become mainstream.
Other recent Microsoft announcements include:
- New AI-generated stickers for MS Paint
- Ability to uninstall the Microsoft Store in EU builds
- Reduced prompts for default browser settings, giving users more freedom
Conclusion: A Glimpse into the AI-Powered Future of Windows 11
With AI agents simplifying settings and Recall offering controlled data sharing, Microsoft is laying the groundwork for a smarter, more privacy-conscious Windows experience. While still in testing, these features highlight the direction of Windows 11 as an AI-driven operating system ready to adapt to user needs while respecting global data privacy laws.
